FBA Prep Pricing Index 2027

A pre-release pricing baseline built from operator-published FBA prep rate cards. Every included row carries the service basis, volume context, primary source URL and verification date so buyers can see what the number actually means.

Pre-release notice. These figures are not presented as the final 2027 U.S. market benchmark. Pricing changes, service baskets differ, and the current sample is smaller than the planned 100+ provider annual edition.

What the preview measures

The comparison uses the lowest-volume published standard single-unit prep rate that is tied to a defined service basket. A lower volume tier can be a better published rate, but it only enters the “best” field when the operator states a real tier or volume condition. Quote-only pricing, isolated label charges and unsupported “as low as” claims are not pooled into the headline statistics.

That distinction matters because one provider may include receiving, inspection, FNSKU labeling and outbound preparation, while another bills polybags, inspection, storage or shipment creation separately. The number is useful only when its scope stays attached.

Historical benchmark: FBA Prep Finder 2026

For year-over-year context, we retain FBA Prep Finder's June 2026 study as a historical benchmark rather than treating it as the deciding source for our current rates. Its published study reports 44 comparable U.S. centers, a $1.30 median entry rate, a $0.99–$1.66 middle 50%, and a $0.90 median best published rate.

How the final 2027 edition will be built

  1. Expand the research pool to 100+ independently checked providers.
  2. Re-check every included rate inside one fixed 30-day annual snapshot window.
  3. Store the raw published wording before parsing entry rate, best rate, fee gates and service scope.
  4. Keep USD, GBP, EUR and CAD in separate statistical pools; do not convert currencies into one median.
  5. Exclude quote-only, promotional, labeling-only and unresolved conflicting rate cards from headline medians.
  6. Publish the raw dataset, methodology, exclusion reasons, corrections log and archived annual edition.

Questions about the index

Is $1.08 the average FBA prep price in the United States?

No. It is the median entry rate in this 10-provider pre-release comparable sample as of October 31, 2026. The final 2027 edition will use a substantially larger, fixed-window sample and will describe its population explicitly.

Why not simply compare the cheapest advertised number?

Because advertised floors often require high monthly volume or cover a narrower operation. A useful comparison keeps volume, inclusions, minimums and add-ons attached to the rate.

Can providers submit corrections?

Yes. Published prices should be corrected against the provider's current primary source, with the source URL and verification date preserved so the change is auditable rather than silently overwritten.
